A basic salary is the fixed base amount received by an individual on a monthly basis before any other additional incomes such as overtimes, commissions, travel allowances and any other performance bonuses are taken into consideration.
Normally the basic salary is fixed by nature and it is usually stated in the employment contract.
The basic salary should preferably not fluctuate month to month unless the terms & conditions of the employment contract state so, for example, a 10 percent labour rate increase after every six months excetra.
